The Lone Dandelion

While visiting my parents in the mountains of Pennsylvania last year, I took a few nature walks with my camera. During one of those walks, high up on a ridge, I spotted this lone Dandelion beside the road. It was in the midst of very Big scenery and space. I already had an idea in the back of my mind of the type of shot I wanted to try.

I gave attention to a small living thing that may have otherwise gone unnoticed. It would have passed through it’s short life without ever being seen. But, I saw it, and now you do too.

You must have been lying on the ground looking up at this "wishy". They are so photogenic.

Here, here....Congratulations on your 102 blog..I love being part of this community too.
The sky is beautiful in this shot and I love the lowly dandelion as your subject. I was thinking the same as Lavender Lady, I could never have gotten down that far!!!

Very cool shot. Congrats on the 102 posts. I knew you had it in you! I still think you should create a coffee table book. You could make a lot of money and you'd be doing what you love: photography and story-telling!

P.S. I hope The Office is on tonight--things are getting real spicy between Jim and Pam again...;-)

Lucy,
Your welcome, glad you liked the links and stuff.

The Office is reruns tonight, but good ones! The one at 8:30pm was about when Dwight tried to take Michaels position! I'll have to wait and see what the 10:00pm episode will be.

I'm so glad no one had come along and blown the spores off to make their wish, because that let you take this wonderful photo, Chad.

Very well captured.

Absolutely excellent photograph. The only thing keeping it from being totally iconic are the blades of grass, lower left. Doesn't offset the arch of the stem enough IMO. Stunning sky. Aren't dandelions cool?

Brian,
I got rid of the pesky blades of grass. I appreciate your proffesional advice, Thanks!

Good one! That was not an easy one.

I hadn't really notice the blades of grass but getting rid of them really made a difference in finishing the photo. Great job.

Chad...

I am just realizing that you also LOVE "the Office"...my husband and I cannot get enough since we saw the very first ones. It isnt on here so we download them from iTunes and watch them on our Macs. It takes a certain humor to laugh along (a quite wicked one!). We love Dwight and of course all the pranks that Jim and Pam play. I am not sure if you watch it but we also love SCRUBS....

Anyway, I thought that was hilarious that you and a few of your readers love the show too and were blogging back and forth about it.

Take care.
