Here’s an image I took two years ago at my Grandparents house. It’s of a lamp shade in their guest bedroom. I’ve always loved the stained glass in it as well as the frosted white glass you see there.
I had this image on my computer as a part of a framing project I’m doing for one of my friends. This image may be used in collaboration with some other images. In trying to think of what to post, I spotted this fond image and decided to share it with you all.

We think alike. Great shot.
And shoot alike. :)
Yes, I do believe we do, Anna ;)
I, too, love stained glass. This is especially nice for you since it is from your grandma's house.
Nice colors. The glass almost looks metalic.
I like the story behind this and that it makes you smile to see it is what makes me smile. I love the stained glass as well as the memories it stirred.
I love the abstract quality and vivid colors of this shot. Beautiful stained glass.
i can see how fondly it's been shot...lovely colors and i dont think there's anyone in this world who does not appreciate the beauty of stained glass :)
interesting shot, nice colours.
This is lovely, Chad. It is like a traditional/contemporary mix: the frosted glass almost looks like an old lace handkerchief or doily and the beautiful colored leaves are more 'new world'. You have an interesting eye that brings the ordinary into view as being unique and extraordinary.
I love the colors here, very vibrant and an unusual combination but it still works :)
Wow, Chad, really great stuff! Love this and the Silver Surfer!
Very cool...nice colors!
Great shot Chad. I like the colors and knowing where it comes from makes it that much more special.
I bet it is a beautiful lamp shade :D
Nice.
My first job as a teenager was at a lighting store in Hollywood, my job was to clean all the lamps on display. I clean many of this as well as Tiffany's and Chandeliers.
I like the image you present, this type of lamps are timeless.
A lamp shade WOW.. that is one cool looking lamp. I would never have guessed.. :) :) Great colors and detail.. :)
I love stained glass and the way it was put together it was a true art form. Last year I was in a local village which had a derelict church, I gone in to look at some of the head stones, but noticed all the windows were smashed and falling out. I thought then is was a crying shame that a big church was left to get into that state, I picked up some fragments of the window and the lead work which held them in and was saddened by it all. In case you are wondering I left the glass there, it did not seem right to take it even if it was just going to be smashed up more.
On a happier note I love your Blog, I was given a link to here this morning and I've pent a while browsing... great pictures and a great blog I WILL be back.
P.S. I took your suggestion and a friend and I took our daughters to see "Hairspray" yesterday. I didn't see any silver figures above us, though!
I bet your grandparents are really cool.
How're things?
I love stained glass. :)
Hi Chad, thanks for visiting my blog the other day. I really like this image with the stained glass. I wouldn't have thought to photograph it up close like that. It really makes for an interesting shot!
Beautiful. I love glass.
Problem is, we have tile floors in our home that is unforgiving of ANYTHING breakable.
